Capitol Shakespeare’s youth theater program, The Young Bards, is open for registration through May 4. Students age 12-18 will work with guest director Dr. Daniel Devlin, the Assistant Professor of Theater at Bismarck State College. Auditions will take place at the first rehearsal June 17th, all who register will receive a role. The online registration form is on our website, www.capitolshakespeare.org. Rehearsals will be Monday -Thursday evenings at Bismarck State College June 17th through the final performance on July 21st.
The Young Bards program seeks to train young actors in methods of expression and interpretation of classical text. Students will learn and grow in their understanding of theater, iambic pentameter, physical expression, and emotional commitment to a character. They will help select scenes, write their own introductions, and establish a performance order to create a fluid and engaging final performance. The scenes will be also be performed prior to the Capitol Shakespeare Mainstage production of The Winter's Tale.

Auditions will take place at the first rehearsal in mid June.
